Dùng definitely để diễn tả sự chắc chắn. Hay có thể dùng trợ động từ “do” để nhấn mạnh: She did come in today. CEO=Chief Executive Officer=tổng giám đốc điều hành một công ty. Carol: Well, I think that she said something about a meeting with the CEO. Harry: What time was the meeting? Carol: I’m pretty sure that she said about ten o’clock, but she didn’t give me any details. Harry: Ten o’clock? With the CEO? Oh, no! That’s right now! Carol: What’s wrong? Why are you so upset? When he asks Carol, Carol uses the expression “I’m not sure” to show her uncertainty. Harry: Do you know where she is? Carol: I’m not sure. Gary: Harry asks again, and Carol uses the word “might” to suggest some possibilities of where Marilyn might be. Harry: Do you have any idea where she could be? Carol: Well, she might be with a customer. She said that Sid from Corona Dot Com might come by. Gary: Later in the conversation, Carol uses the expressions “I think she said something about...” and “I’m pretty sure that...” to show her uncertainty. Let’s listen: Harry: Any other ideas?
